news bulletin broadcast on Springbok Radio was in 1955. It is sadly uncertain as to who the first newscaster was, however the final news
broadcast was heard at 15H57 on 31 December 1985 in Afrikaans by Francois van Heyningen. Over the years many newscasters were
used, including Eric Cordell, Denis Smith, Victor Mackerson, Elwen Morris, Hugh Rouse & Colin Fluxman to mention just a few.
