The opening & closing of the popular Springbok Radio Comedy Series "Taxi". The episode is entitled "Of Hijacks & Beds" b/c 10 October
1971. The voices of George Korelin (Chuck) & Tony Jay (Red) can be heard. The series was produced by Sonovision Studios in
Johannesburg & was written & produced by Joe Stewardson. David Gooden directed the series. The series aired on Springbok Radio
between June 1968 & August 1972 & again from April 1975 to January 1978. The series made a short comeback in 1987 on Radio South
Africa when a 10 episode series written by George Korelin & produced by Nigel Vermaas was broadcast. The series was called "The
Best of Taxi". In 1971 a full length feature film based upon the series was released by Killarney Film Studios. The exact same actors used
in the radio series were drafted into the feature film. A record release also followed called "Red Kowalkski" & featured Tony Jay, singing &
reciting children's stories.
